Rooted in attachment-informed and culturally responsive practice, this approach offers a thoughtful alternative to traditional studio-based sessions, encouraging balance, reflection, and connection to both self and the surrounding environment at your pace.

Dr. Gina Wong (黃玉清) (she/they) is a second-generation Chinese Canadian woman living on Treaty 6 Territory (Amiskwacîwâskahikan/Edmonton). As a registered psychologist in Alberta for over 2 decades, an author, researcher, supervisor, consultant, and transgenerational trauma-informed therapist, they are dedicated to advancing and practising culturally safe and responsive counselling for individuals and couples. Gina works with general population of adults as well as adolescent females in addition to Asian clients and other racialized communities.

Psychological counselling services as well as consulting, supervision, and training are offered at SoulFire Studio. Dr. Gina Wong offers general counselling services for those struggling with life issues, sometimes complex traumas. They work with the Physician Family Support Program and other referral networks and insurance benefit programs including the Non-Insured Health Benefits Program for First Nations and Inuit Communities.

They are certified in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health through the Centre for Perinatal Psychology (Australia) and Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. They have also worked in perinatal forensic psychology. Gina provides general counselling and is a Level II Circle of Security (COS) (attachment) parent facilitator. They have specialized training in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy through the Ketamine Research Foundation as well as other trauma-informed approaches such as Attachment-Focused EMDR (currently Level III trained).

Gina is registered in the province of Alberta and can offer in-person, including walking therapy; virtual, and telephone services. They also offer virtual therapy services in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, and Quebec. Please contact the Studio for further details. We look forward to working with you!
